Awarded the 2020 George Trubow Scholarship
On June 8, 2020, Mona was selected to receive the The 2019 George Trubow Memorial Scholarship while attending UIC John Marshall Law School. The George Trubow Memorial Scholarship provides assistance to students at The John Marshall Law School with a strong academic record and an interest in studying privacy or information technology law.
The inaugural George Trubow Memorial Scholarship honoring long-time professor George Trubow, was established by Mrs. Sue Trubow and Kenneth Michaels (JD’83) in memory of George Trubow, a pioneer in advocating the individual’s right to privacy and former director emeritus of the Center for Information Technology and Privacy Law and faculty emeritus at The John Marshall Law School. Trubow, who founded John Marshall Law School’s Center for Information Technology & Privacy Law, was a member of the faculty for 25 years. Under his direction, the law school established the Journal of Information Technology & Privacy Law (previously the Journal of Computer and Information Law), and the International Moot Court Competition in Privacy Law.

Nominated as Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society, Chair Coordinator
Mona Hariri was selected to be the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society’s Chair Coordinator. The International Legal Honor Society of Phi Delta Phi, established in the year 1869 to promote a higher standard of professional ethics, is among the oldest of legal organizations in North America. To be eligible to join Phi Delta Phi, a law student must be of good moral character and in good academic standing. "In good academic standing" shall be defined as not less than the top 1/3 of the class or other recognized, scholastic, professional ethics or service standard in which the candidate for membership has excelled, including, but not limited to, membership on Moot Court, published journals, or service in legal clinics or community service as approved by the Council.

Dean’s Fellowship Scholarship Awarded
Upon admission to the John Marshall Law School, Mona Hariri was awarded the Dean’s Fellowship Scholarship. Each year, the Law School awards the Dean’s Fellowship Scholarship to exemplary incoming students. The scholarship is guaranteed as long as the recipient remains in satisfactory academic standing at the conclusion of each academic semester and summer session of each academic year.
